Built for Battle This westbound Soda Ash train was built in Pocatello to battle the grades of the Pacific Northwest. The train left the Wyoming Soda Mines 2x1. In Pocatello the train added a 5 unit swing help. The extra power is for the Reverse hill, Encina Hill (Hindman) and the Blue Mountain Grade. The train here is about to start into the 2.2% Durkee loop, the top of which can be seen in the upper right.
