Exercising trackage rights over UP's "Sierra Crossing" (formally the Roseville Subdivision) as the QPVBCJ 04, BNSF H PVOSTO1 04A emerges out from the Norden snow sheds to begin the long and slow descent down Donner Pass. With only 46 cars, nearly all of them empties, on the drawbar and the summit of the Pass behind them (literally and figuratively), it would be smooth sailing from here on for the crew of the Independence Day edition of this tri-weekly run.
