| "Work Train at Atlas Terminal"
A Long Island Rail Road work train passes the former Atlas Terminal on the Lower Montauk in Glendale, NY while on its way to Fresh Pond Yard. Atlas Terminal was once a huge rail-served industrial complex that featured several businesses and even it's own small switching locomotive. The land was taken over by another company, re-branded as "Atlas Park" and is now an upscale shopping center. The original water tower still stands as a memory of what once was. |
