      Remarks & Notes
Eureka after hours. With their locomotive steamed up and ready for the excursions in the days to follow, the crew of Eureka & Palisade #4 "Eureka" puts together the passenger consist in the yard at Durango on the first evening of Railfest 2011. In this scene, Eureka passes the back side of the famous Durango Roundhouse and shops, toting one of the coaches that had been painted green for the previous year's Railfest. Astute observers might notice that the large, brick structure looks just a bit too new to have ever been part of the old D&RGW, and that is absolutely correct. The original structure burned in a disastrous fire back in 1989, destroying the building and damaging all of the locomotives inside. Fortunately, Charles Bradshaw, the railroad's owner at the time, persevered and rebuilt the structure, even using some of the brick salvaged from the fire. Today, that structure is one of America's premier steam shops, and is home to some 10 locomotives, 6 of which are operational today.
