| An eastbound manifest swings south at Jennings leaving the Kootenai for the Fisher River. Jennings was selected as the beginning point for Great Northern's Libby Bypass in 1965 with today's mainline between here and Stryker built to accommodate the construction of the Libby Dam. Construction was completed in 1972 and a short spur and girder bridge from the original mainline are still visible just to the east of the photo. |
