Without the 1970’s GM iron inconveniently parked in sight of this vantage point, this could easily have been a scene from the 1950’s in rural Virginia. In fact, Norfolk & Western 2-6-6-4 1218 is leading an Alexandria – Front Royal excursion on the Southern at Rectortown, Virginia.
