| Timetabled traffic through the new 15,4 kilometer long Ceneri Base Tunnel (CBT) between Camorino (near Giubiasco) and Vezia (near Lugano) will start with change of timetable in december this year. But during the trial operation to run in the operating procedures, both passenger and freight trains are already being routed through the tunnel instead of over the line over the Ceneri Pass. Here two coupled highspeed trains "Giruno" RABe 501 # 022 and # 013 are running empty as train 32144 from Lugano via Bellinzona to Lavorgo over the curved bridge between the tunnel portal and Giubiasco, maybe a test or driver training run. |
