    Remarks & Notes
United States Army FM H12-44 sits idle on track 6 in the upper yard at the Rochester Genesee Valley Railroad Museum on a clear November night. Built in 1953, 1843 was most recently used in the Seneca Army Depot in Romulus, NY, until it was declared surplus in 1993. The locomotive still sports its original 1,200 horsepower six-cylinder opposed piston prime mover as illuminated by the locomotives interior hood lights. It arrived at the museum that same year, and has been in operating condition since.

A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
