DWP GP38-2s nos. 5853 and 5850 head into downtown Duluth with a transfer from their West Duluth yard. These units replaced aging RS-11s, and by year end will no longer serve Duluth at all. A new yard in Pokegama, WI, on Superior's south end is nearing completion and CN/DWP trains will soon use the DMIR interstate branch to avoid Duluth completely. Today it is part of CN's mainline from Winnipeg to Chicago.
