A heavy Freeport McMoRan train of loaded acid tanks curves through the cut approaching Corral Road grade crossing while climbing the torturous three to five percent grade from the Arizona Eastern interchange at Clifton, Arizona, to the FMI facilities at Morenci on October 22, 2020. Five EMD GP38/38-2s power the train, led by a rebuilt former Rio Grande GP40 that has seen a lot of mountain grades during its life. A trio of trailing units still wear the blue, white and red colors of former owner Phelps-Dodge.
