A westbound Amtrak Regional Express sprints through Monmouth Junction, NJ ducking the still surviving PRR signal bridge. Monmouth Junction is named for the still existing junction to the right but obscured by the train that joined the Camden Amboy Railroad line from Kingston, the Pennsylvania Railroad, New York to Philadelphia, and the Jamesburg and Freehold Agricultural Railroad. Plans to restore commuter service to the portion between Monmouth Jct and South Amboy surface from year to year but have yet to materialize. To the left, a small yard and freight house once stood.
