On a chilly evening, the ghost of the old Rutland past visits North Bennington Yard with the “Vermont lights the way” holiday train making a brief one night only appearance. The rare appearance of the former Rutland RS-1 405 to this part of the railroad was worth the hour drive from home to record with a small gathering of friends. By dawn the following morning, the Alco would be shuttled north to Manchester on its tour of the state.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
