Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, received over two feet of snow over the previous three days before a frigid Arctic high settled in over the region. On January 27, 1996, Wisconsin Central train 43 has just crossed Lost Arrow Road as it descends Byron Hill, south of Fond du Lac, in extremely high winds and well below zero temperatures.
