Heading from Goleta, just west of Santa Barbara, to San Diego, Amtrak Pacific Surfliner 768 makes a stop in Fullerton. Led by Siemens SC-44 "Charger" 2109, one of two Surfliner-service engines without more blue toward the rear, this train has an added treat – Amtrak "Superliner" Lounge 33041 has replaced the usual Coach/Café car in this consist. Passengers (at least those on the train’s right side) will appreciate this car’s larger windows and side-facing seats once the train begins to skirt the Pacific Ocean in about thirty-five miles as the train lives up to its name.
