This photo was taken 40 years to the day from when the first Amtrak train operated. Heritage units painted by the Beech Grove shops displaying each of Amtrak's locomotive liveries were posed in the Washington DC Ivy City yard. From left to right, the lineup included Phase I P42 #156, Phase II P42 #66, Phase III P40 #822, Phase IV P42 #184 and Phase V P42 #148. In a few months Amtrak will celebrate its 50th Anniversary, a historic milestone in American history that few (if any) imagined would happen when it all began.
From all American railroads, you will see all of the American railroad heritage units, Orginal paints, and sticker units displayed in this album by Railfan 225!
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
