What could be the "Seminole", bound for Jacksonville from Chicago, passes the northbound "City of New Orleans" somewhere around central Illinois in the 1960's...but in reality was a photo shoot in 2016 in Batesville, Mississippi, coordinated by the NRHS Memphis Chapter with Iowa Pacific Holdings. Magnets temporarily converted IP E8 #518 into Central of Georgia 812.
Ed Ellis' rail holding company brought the brown and orange colors of the Illinois Central back to life on its varied passenger operations around the country.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Photos of North America's favorite First Generation locomotives. EMD, ALCO, Baldwin; essentially anything that represents the OG wide cab diesel locomotive
