    Remarks & Notes
Northbound Freight to Albion. With a light rain beginning to fall on chilly Alna Center Station, a northbound WW&F Freight charges past the tiny flag-stop, headed north to the northern terminus of the railroad at Albion. This 2021 re-creation was staged during a Lerro Photography charter on the WW&F Railway Museum in Alna, ME.

The little station house seen here is an authentic replica of the type of shelter that was provided at each of the many flag-stops along the original WW&F Railway. This one is located at Alna Center, about 6.5 miles north of Wiscasset. The location of the station is very close to the original, which would have existed until the railroad shut down in 1933. As noted, the northern terminus of the original main line was in a town called Albion, approximately 44 miles north of Wiscasset. Interestingly, the original WW&F Depot in Albion still exists. That's a two story structure and it's significantly larger than what you see here. It is maintained as a relic to the original railroad, and folks from our museum travel up there at least once a year for a work weekend to maintain the grounds and the buildings. Unfortunately, the museum does not own the original ROW all the way to Albion, so there's no plan to ever rebuild the line to that location.
