Sitting pretty
Recently restored ex-SOU SD40-2 3170 pauses in the golden hour after running museum trains and photo charters for National Train Day. The locomotive would later be placed with three other pieces of Southern's staple motive power from the golden age of railroading.
After running here, there, and everywhere between museums and serving on locals on the Piedmont Division, 3170 (facing multiple mechanical ailments) now calls the TVRM home.
Selected photos of locomotives, passenger cars, and rolling stock in the Southern's livery as well as other assets once belonging to or used by the Southern.
