A total of 3 GP40MCs are crossing back and forth over the Charles River Drawbridge, with one departing on a train to Reading, and 2 arriving on a train from Haverhill. The GP40MCs, which are rebuilt from former CN GP40-2LWs, continue to be workhorses of the MBTA's commuter rail network, even after spending 45 years on the rails in freight and passenger service.
