| Locomotive Fleet. BMEX 779 reverses through Clifton Station on the Staten Island Railway on a cold Saturday morning. The locomotive was heading east on the line to pick up a pair of MOW hopper cars to bring back up to the shop here at Clifton. Of interest in the background are the B&O color position light signals used on SIR, a bright yellow de-icer car made from a retired subway car, and the other three locomotives that SIR uses; the entire SIR locomotive fleet is in this photo. |
