I asked 338's crew yesterday what the drifts look like east of Waterloo. They said around Beth there was some small ones. I headed out today in the bitterly cold to shoot 338 blasting the drifts at Beth. The train is not doing very good on speed fighting, the wind, the cold, snow drifts, fuel conservation, and the grade. The train is about 55 miles from Dubuque, the next crew change point.
