| A couple of the recently retired Metrolink F59PHRs have made a surprise reappearance as power for a rail train that is making a system wide tour to replace rail. After spending last night dropping rail between Fullerton and Santa Ana, the Metrolink Work Train is tied down on the siding between CP-El Toro and CP-Bake in Irvine as it awaits another assignment tonight. Meanwhile, Amtrak 1584 passes as they prepare to double back and layover at the other end of the siding. Due to track work on the NCTC San Diego Sub, Amtrak service is terminating in Irvine this weekend. |
