A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway intermodal train climbs toward the town of Tehachapi, and the summit of the crossing of the Tehachapi Mountains, on a late winter’s day. BNSF ES44DC 7675, just over a year old, leads the train with the assistance of leased FURX SD40-2 8115 and two BNSF Dash 9-44CWs (4615 and 5301), which is about to duck into Tunnel 2, between Caliente and Bealville.
