An eastbound Amtrak Regional Express led by No. 915, emerges from the Hudson River tunnel into the now covered open pit before returning underground for its Penn Station stop. A series of double slip switches and diamonds to the right lead commuter trains to the LIRR yard. Amtk No. 915 survives today, preserved at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
