C&NW power was fairly common along UP - particularly on the run-thru trains between Chicago and North Platte, but even west of North Platte. Many C&NW and UP units had dual cab signal equipment whereby they could operate on either road as leaders. Such is the case with this American President Lines double stack train departing Fremont for Oakland this August afternoon.
