Remarks & Notes
The High Iron Co. ran a couple double-headed excursions from Jersey City to Wilkes Barre via the old C&NJ (or CRRofPA here, if you will). Ex CP Pacific No. 1278 trailed Strasburg RRs Decapod No. 90. Nesquehoning Jct. still had semaphore signals and an open tower. The railroad crossed the Lehigh River just west of here to parallel the Lehigh Valley RR into the remote Lehigh River gorge. Much of this railroad was subsequently abandoned when CNJ and LV paired their operations on one or the other's line west of Allentown.
