| Cogwheel railcar BDhe 4/4 # 5 (built in 1965 by SLM, SIG and BBC) of the Rigi Bahnen is running down the 25.0 % grade below Grubisbalm with train CC 1122 from Rigi Kulm to Vitznau, crossing the 80 meter long Schnurtobel bridge. This concrete bridge was built in 1957/58 and replaced the old truss bridge from 1871. The cars are B # 7 from 1872, B # 15 from 1899 and B # 5 from 1871. This train has a capacity of 220 seats, about 1/2 more then the push-pull trains BDhe 4/4 # 21/22 with cab cars Bt # 31/32. The 7 kilometer long standard gauge Vitznau-Rigi-Bahn was opened in 1871 and is celebrating 150 years in 2021! Electrification was in 1937 with 1500 V DC. |
