      Remarks & Notes
Birmingham Southern Alco HH900, No82 was pulled out from it's canopy on November 8, 2020 for a photo charter and is seen at the Calera & Shelby depot in Calera, Alabama. 82 holds a title in several areas of railroading history. It is the oldest surviving turbo charged diesel locomotive in North America having been built in March 1937, it is the only remaining HH900 model in existence and is the oldest of the HH series built by the American Locomotive Company who along with other major builders were still building steam locomotives on the same floor space as these early diesels. The unit is owned by the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum which cosmetically restored the historic locomotive in 2014, it sits in full view on public display at their site in Calera, Alabama.
