Metrolink Ventura County Line train 115, heading from Los Angeles to Moorpark, passes by a work train carrying long sections of rail due to be off-loaded in Ventura. The work train, sitting in the Burbank Storage Track just east of Control Point Millhouse, has a pair of previously retired (or so we thought) F59PH diesels, 868 and 856. These two locomotives, each wearing Metrolink’s most boring paint scheme – white with a teal roadname and black roof – are powering the rail train, with caboose MW01 (ex-Illinois Central) on the rear. CP Millhouse is named not for either Richard Nixon’s middle name nor the Simpsons character (each spelled with only a single "L"), but for a board member of Metrolink’s controlling body Southern California Regional Rail Authority. Much better than the previous name, which was CP Lockheed, honoring the nearby site of the World War II-era Lockheed "Skunk Works" aircraft factory, which was instrumental in creating aircraft for the war effort.
