Running on track that will be out of service before the end of the year, Southern's Eufaula to Ozark train passes the former Central of Georgia depot, now equipped with a basketball goal and surrounded by the local Massey Ferguson dealer's inventory. Between 5069 and the cab are three gons, a tanker and a boxcar - not a bad train for this line at this late date.
Photos taken in the Deep South--primarily Alabama and Georgia--from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Featured railroads include the ICG, the West Point Route, SCL, Southern, Frisco, and even KCS.
Selected photos of locomotives, passenger cars, and rolling stock in the Southern's livery as well as other assets once belonging to or used by the Southern.
