The Bullion Mountains form a backdrop as BNSF train H-BELBAR1-12 makes its way from Belen, New Mexico, to Barstow, California. A quartet of contemporary General Electric diesels (ES44C4 8189, ES44DCS 7477 and 7521 and Dash 9-44CW 1073), along with EMD GP39-2 2844, are powering this train as it passes mile 705 on the railway’s Needles Sub as it crosses the Mojave Desert.
