        Remarks & Notes
National Steel Corporation Weirton Steel Division (WSX) SW1500 306 switches cars at their facility. Built by EMD in January 1971 as Pittsburgh & Lake Erie 9288, this switcher was later renumbered P&LE 1565. It was later sold to Whitestone Supply, which numbered it WSTX 306. From there, it ended up as WSX 306, effectively just losing a “T” in its reporting mark and road number. (Weirton, West Virginia – September 19, 2019). Photographed on private property with permission and full PPE.
