The freight train returns to FCALP / Ferrocarril Arica a La Paz: The old and historic FCALP (international railroad between Chile and Bolivia) resumed freight rail operations after 15 years. This first train (in test mode), transported steel coils from the port of Arica to the Visviri station on the international border (in the highlands of the Andes, over 4000 meters high), where it carried out a cargo exchange with the Bolivian FCA (Empresa Ferroviaria Andina). In this photograph, after leaving the town of Poconchile and crossing the Lluta river for the last time (the bridge and the valley can be seen in the background), he begins to climb towards San Martín and venture into the hardest sections of his long journey (6% slope between Central and Puquios), to through the Andean massif and the chilean "altiplano".
