Union Pacific EMD SD70M No. 4831 is getting a wheel set/motor assembly replaced at railroad’s Kansas City Locomotive Facility on October 21, 2013. Shop employees James L. Pemberton and Michael Liles are using the single-axle drop table on the wheel track at the facility to lower the new wheel set/traction motor assembly. The wheelset will drop below and be transferred in the drop pit toward the adjoining track that the locomotive sits on and then be raised underneath the rear truck of No. 4831. As the table lowers, the raised floors seen on both sides will also automatically lower, covering the opening of the transfer table, eliminating a possible falling hazard on the shop floor
