| On my way to work I was lucky to catch a Herzog ballast train dropping ballast on the NS Wabash line located on the eastern edge of the NS Illinois Division, the Lafayette District. The train is shown here a mile west of Clymers, IN. Herzog's automated ballast unloading system provides precision application with no need for workers on the ground. The system can unload at a speed up to 20 mph. |
