Amtrak 3, the westbound Southwest Chief (behind P42DCs 23 and 163), has just arrived on Track 3 at the Fullerton Transportation Center – 3 hours 38 minutes behind schedule. As its passenger detrain, Amtrak 768, an eastbound/southbound (depending upon which of three Subdivisions it is on) Pacific Surfliner – running a mere 7 minutes late – arrives on Track 1. For those arriving on 3, this is fortuitous, as train 768 (pulled by SC-44 2112) will be held long enough for those connecting passengers to get onboard the train heading to San Diego.
