The power - three SD40s plus three B367s - kind of tells you that is probably an important CSX train sitting just beyond the signal. That doesn't matter, as the Southern (well, ok... NS) long-range local with its two mundane GP38-2s was here first. The 'big' train will just have to wait until the local is done switching its chip hoppers and other wood/paper-related cars. A side-note - 5225 looks a bit odd, as its long hood seems clean, while its cab and blower shroud area is very dusty. Did a wash get interrupted?
Photos taken in the Deep South--primarily Alabama and Georgia--from the 1970s to the early 2000s. Featured railroads include the ICG, the West Point Route, SCL, Southern, Frisco, and even KCS.
