Running eight hours behind schedule, Amtrak 3, the westbound Southwest Chief, lost AMTK P42DC 117 in Winslow AZ and picked up BNSF ES44C4 6911 to assist AMTK P42DC 19 on its journey from Chicago to Los Angeles. The crew also ran out of available hours after departing Flagstaff AZ as well, further delaying this 7 car train. (Placentia, California – July 8, 2021)
