Generations Apart

Passenger trains from two different times share the storied Rockville bridge on the former PRR Middle Division. Amtrak’s eastbound Pennsylvanian with a lone F40 and three cars is on time for arrival in Harrisburg. Farther away, two former PRR steamers, 4-4-2 7002 and 4-4-0 1223 have a ten car special from Strasburg, and are maneuvering to begin their return to Lancaster County.
