An Empire Connection. A shortage of diesels lead to AMTK 702 (P32AC-DM) being sent out on an unusual assignment - leading the Amtrak Lake Shore Limited to Boston, Massachusetts. Normally these dual mode engines can only be seen on New York State supported trains or the New York Penn leg of the Lake Shore Limited. On July 22, 2021, it returned from Boston to Albany-Rensselaer, New York, seen here exiting the State Line Tunnel in Canaan, New York on the former Boston and Albany Railroad.
