    Remarks & Notes
The 1700 series trains entered circulation in 1987 with the pomp of being the fastest trains in the State of S?o Paulo. They were the first to have eight cars and arrived bringing a new engine system. In its glory days at the Companhia Brasileira de Trens Urbanos (CBTU), of the Federal Railroad Network, passengers crowded onto the platform to wait for them, as they had more seats and greater interior space compared to other trains at the time. The 12 units were manufactured by Mafersa/ Hitachi, the largest and most important national railway industry at the time, which was sold to the private sector in 1995. The fleet was incorporated into CPTM in 1992, when the company was created. The Company inherited the lines of CBTU, from the federal government, and Fepasa, from the state government. The original color of the 1700s was silver. In the renovation carried out in 2000, they were painted blue and had all the systems revised or changed. In 2019, all units were deactivated and none were preserved, with only units of the same model in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
