Two former Deutsche Bundesbahn (DB) 4-6-2 steam "racehorses" are starting their 8 car train from Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg up over the "Schiefe Ebene" with a grade of 2.5 % to Marktschorgast. 01 # 202 of association "Pacific 01 202" in Lyss/Switzerland, left the repair works of Meiningen the day before after a nearly two years overhaul. 01 # 150 of DB Museum/Eisenbahnstiftung J.Schmidt was operational again since may 5th 2013. Since 2019 the locomotive is standing in Heilbronn because the wheel tires are worn. Both locomotives were based in Hof in the 1970', till 1970/73 and ran regularly on this line then.
