At Kansas City Southern's Metairie Yard, the matched power of KCS 3925 (SD70MAC, 10/1999) KCS 2974 (GP40-3, 8/1979) and KCS 4328 (SW1500, 8/1968) in Southern Belle paint lay over in between assignments on the morning of Sunday, August 22, 2021. While recent merger talks with Canadian National Railway have been stalled by a Surface Transportation Board ruling, Canadian Pacific Railway stepped in and become more aggressive. All of this activity suggests that there is no time like the present to capture this classic paint scheme before it potentially becomes a thing of the past.
