Quite a few steam locomotive enthusiasts refer to the Bavarian four-cylinder express train locomotives S 3/6 as the most beautiful machines ever built. The 4-6-2 locomotive # 3673 was built in 1918 in the series "S 3/6 i" by J.A.Maffei for the "K?niglich Bayerische Staatsbahn" and got the number 18 # 478 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. The locomotive is in Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg on the occasion of the "25 (26) years Eisenbahn-Romantik Sonderfahrten" of the IGE with the 5-day-program "Dampflok-Sp?tsommer in Deutschland". The locomotive was rescued by the swiss gentleman Serge Lory and was in Switzerland from 1966 til 1993. Now owned and operated by the BEM (Bayerisches Eisenbahnmuseum N?rdlingen).
