A bi-modal (electro/diesel) "Flirt" train for Norway is standing in the small station of Oberaach (where my grandparents lived). StadlerRail, with the Erlen commissioning center nearby, has an order of 12 200 km/h BEMUs of type BM 76 for Norske Tog: Norske Tog (Norwegian Train) is the Norwegian state-owned company established to offer rental of rolling stock for passenger transport operators on the Norwegian railway tracks. The company is owned by the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications. The twelve BM 76 trains are being built in StadlerRail works in Siedlce/Poland and Belarus, but train BM 76 # 02 was pulled to Switzerland for software and electric tests. The end cars are numbered 76 # 102 and # 502. New BM76 units will be deployed on Tr?nderbanen (Tr?nder line), on which the trains are currently operated by SJ Norge (Norwegian subsidiary of the Swedish state railways). It is heavily used by the commuters in the Tr?ndelag region, especially north of Trondheim (including the Trondheim Airport V?rnes). The color scheme of the train will change when in Norway.
