BNSF trackage rights train H-STOPVO negotiaes the S curve at Alta, CA as it accends Donner Pass. This was my next shot of this train after Long Ravine, a mere 12 miles to the southwest by road, and just under 14 by rail. However, it took the train just under 45 minutes to get here from Long Ravine, which gave me ample time to hike down from there and get to this location with 5 minutes to spare.
