An eastbound Burlington Northern intermodal train meets a westbound coal empty at the end of double track at Joder, Nebraska, on July 3, 1989. Leading the intermodal is LMX GE B39-8 No. 8558. BN operated a fleet of 100 of these locomotives from LMX, paying for kilowatt/hours generated in freight service to the lessor.
