Classic Carpenters. From the west wall of the oldest cemetery in Lancaster County at Carpenters Crossing, we see a pair of groundskeepers watching the passage of a steam-powered mixed train, with Norfolk & Western M-Class Locomotive #475 on the point. I've shot this classic Strasburg Rail Road location dozens of times in the past, but on this occasion, the moody morning light, the chilly air and the frost on virtually everything made the scene unique, at least in my collection. This image was captured during a November, 2021 photo shoot on Pennsylvania's Strasburg Railroad, organized by Historic Transport Preservation (HTP).
