    Remarks & Notes
The Flagship Denver & Rio Grande Western K-36 No. 483 was the first operational locomotive on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad when it was formed in 1970. Worn out, it was retired in 1977 and has sat out of service since that time. Beloved by fans of the Colorado narrow gauge, this one-time queen of the C&TS is currently (2021) undergoing a cosmetic restoration by the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec.
