It’s in the very early days of Burlington Northern Santa Fe as train 14 heads east through the snow at Grizzly, Montana, on February 28, 1997. The railroad still looks like the Burlington Northern at this date, right down to former Colorado & Southern SD40 No. 6339 leading the train. Softly visible through a veil of falling and blowing snow are the mountains of Glacier National Park in the background.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
